Getting stripes to line up

Banded color is harder than it appears. Each band is applied as separate colored glass and then the whole form is stretched and shaped — which distorts every band simultaneously. Getting stripes to end up evenly spaced and cleanly edged on the finished piece means anticipating that distortion before it happens.
