How to Choose a Vaporizer — The 2026 Buying Guide

A good vaporizer lasts years. A bad one ends up in a drawer. The difference isn't price — it's matching the device to how you actually use it.

Step 1: What are you vaporizing?

This is the biggest fork. Three options:

Dry Herb (flower)

Step 4: Conduction vs Convection (dry herb only)

Conduction: Heating chamber touches the material. Faster heat-up, but can cook the flower unevenly. Examples: most pen-style vapes.

Convection: Hot air passes through the material. More even, more flavor, more efficient. Examples: Crafty+, Mighty+, Volcano. Worth the price difference if you care about flavor.

Step 5: Battery vs Plug-In

Battery devices are convenient but have a finite lifespan (typically 3-5 years before the battery degrades). Desktop plug-in devices last 10+ years easily.

Step 6: Authorized retailer
