Glass artists sign their work, usually with an applied glass signature or a cold-worked mark on the base. That signature is the entire provenance chain for a piece — there are no certificates and no registry in this market, so the mark on the bottom is what establishes authorship years later.

It is also why photographs of the base are a normal request between collectors, and why we will send them without being asked twice.
