Collab pieces are worked by two artists together, usually because each brings a technique the other doesn't. In practice one may handle the body and sculptural work while the other executes colour work, sections or detail. Both signatures appear on the finished piece, and collabs are typically produced in far smaller numbers than either artist's solo work — which is why they occupy the top of the secondary market.
