UV glass
UV-reactive borosilicate contains trace elements — most commonly uranium or manganese compounds in tiny, inert quantities — that fluoresce under blacklight. In daylight the piece reads as ordinary coloured glass; under UV it lights up entirely. Artists use it as a second layer of design that only appears under the right conditions.
It's a material cost as well as a technique: UV rod is significantly more expensive than standard colour, and it behaves differently at the torch.
